I’ve never been a fan of Susan Boyle and still can’t understand why so many people get SO excited over her singing. She’s had the number one album in the country for the last 2 weeks. Over 700,000 copies of her debut CD were sold in a week last year at this time. Who’s buying this drivel? And if it’s you, are you going to admit it?

I dreamed a dream the other night that a tiny frog crawled in the singer’s mouth and emerged during a live performance. And that’s exactly what happened on yesterday’s chickie chat fest “The View”.

Watch how quickly the hosts try to defend Boyle.

I love flash mobs. No one likes going to the crowded stores and malls during the holidays, but how awesome would it be for something like THIS to happen while YOU were shopping? In the digital age we live in, nothing go undocumented, thank god. This video is awesome.

Hey friends! I know most people dread going back to work after having a couple days off for a holiday, but it’s the total opposite for me. I love having some structure . . . and being away for the past week was SO weird.  I’m just glad to be here, excited to do a show today, and totally in full force holiday mode! Although I was supposed to just go home to RI for Thanksgiving and couple days after, there was a death in my family and I ended up going up a few days early – so I ended up being off the air for the entire week. My uncle passed away from cancer that spread pretty fast/bad. It didn’t really hit me until I got to the funeral home and saw my aunt and cousins. The memories all started coming back to me . . . like the time he cut my cast OFF MY ARM when I was 11 because it was summer and I wanted to go to the water park with all of my cousins. I was scheduled to have it taken off that Monday by a professional, but did the at home method instead. My uncle SAWED at the arm for over an hour until we got it off. (I do NOT recommend you try that at home by the way.) He was remembered and his life was certainly celebrated.

Thanksgiving was nice . . . kind of quiet, but i’ll take quiet any day over hectic or problematic. My mom taught me how to bake my first apple pie … the crust from scratch and all! We made caramel appletinis and had fun doing it. By the way  – awesomely festive holiday drink.

So … LOVE IS IN THE AIR because 3 of my best friends got engaged over the holiday! This is totally the YEAR OF ENGAGEMENT in my social network … most of my friends are 1 year older than me (from starting school early) so it seems like 25 is age. Thursday, Christine, who lives in New Orleans now, got engaged and on Friday, my best friend since I was like 5, Sarah, got engaged! It was really sweet and her fiance made sure we were all a part of it. He took her out to a birthday dinner and all of her family and friends were in the bar area of the restaurant waiting to surprise her right after he proposed. We all filed in to the dining area with her back to us, he got down on one knee and proposed. When she screamed “yes!” we all started cheering and clapping and she turned around SOOOOO surprised! (It is SO hard keeping a secret from this girl, so we were all SO happy that she got to have her special moment and really embrace the surprise of it all!)

Look how happy she is! :) Congrats Shawn and Sarah! Ahhh I can’t wait to throw her a bachelorette party … and eeeeeee I love bridal showers!

And … I admit … I was dying to see boyfriend after being away for a week.  I ended up going to NJ to visit him and his family on Saturday. His dad had friends over to play poker and they taught (err attempted to teach) me how to play. Somehow, don’t ask me how, I ended up with a ton of chips. I want to plan a poker party now! I wonder how my girlfriends will feel about that. We shot some guns yesterday and I tore that target apart!

Thankfully now - it’s back to the grind and I’ve done enough shopping to start wrapping presents. I’m gonna go dust off my headphones and find Jeff. I forgot what he looks like. XO

Someone call Guinness! We may have a new world record. This morning our crack team of volunteers prepped for a king-sized Thanksgiving meal @ the St. Vincent DePaul Soup Kitchen in WB. I swear I saw sparks flying off their knives. When the slicing was done, enough potatoes & veggies were diced for a meal serviing 250+ in less than 90 minutes!

Thanks again to all our volunteers. Special thanks to Shur Save, Walmart & the WB/Scranton Penguins for their contributions.

Thanks to you, bellies in NEPA will be full Thanksgiving day.

Here’s a quick video recap–

So I’ve found another baby that I’d like to abscond with….Kelly K’s little Savannah! SO CUTE! I could just hang out with her for days. Momma K brought her to our Annual Turkey Bowl on Sunday and even with all the chaos and people getting in her face, Savannah was an absolute doll! Okay, I know I’ve been talking nonstop about my nephew lately too, and I promise NOT to turn my blog into a veritable “who’s who” of friend & family baby pictures but I felt I had to share at least a coooouple cute shots ;)

Then this morning we were broadcasting live from the soup kitchen. Er, “soup” kitchen?!  They should call it “turkey, taters, stuffing, pie, and assorted yummy hors d’oeuvres” kitchen! Our happy helpers (read:volunteers) were unbelievably upbeat and efficient, especially for 5am. They did all the chopping, mincing, peeling, etc. so the regular staff would be ready to go for Thursday. We had over 35 volunteers, including…….(wait for it)……..MORE cute kids! Hahaha, I put some pics below (naturally). And I hafta give a special shout out to little Morgan and Abby who came with their mom to “help people who don’t have as much” (yeah, that’s a direct quote from Morgan who is obviously very sweet & wise beyond her years). I put the two sisters on the air with us for a couple minutes to introduce a song and they were fantastic! Future DJs perhaps??? We also had Brian and Noah who came with their mom Kelly for the second year in a row – thanks guys! You were potato-peelin’ champs!!

Now….. onto planning for my OWN Thanksgiving. I thought I was gonna be all alone this Thursday, so I was bumming hardcore at the prospect of sitting like an idiot in front of seven hours of 90210 reruns, feasting on Manwich and my own self-loathing. But wait! All the sudden my little bro called and changed my outlook like whammo! He said he’s coming from Jersey to spend Thanksgiving with me AND he gets to stay the night!!!! YAY! I’m not exactly sure what we’re gonna do for sustinence (my culinary skills are somewhere between dumpster diving and campfire wiener-roasting) but hell, we’ll figure it out. If not we’ll drink beer and eat nachos. Just like the Pilgrims.

Mom Kelly with Noah and Brian at the soup kitchen – these boys were hard workers!

The Hot Crew from Hospice!

The Party People from the Pittston Y

The dudes from Pennsylvania American Water were on onion duty – NOT an easy task! This is what separates the men from the boys….

Tux from The Penguins – they brought several shopping carts heaped with hockey fan donations – THANKS GUYS!!!

….and lastly, our engineer Dan playing hide-n-go-seek with a box on his head. This photo really serves no purpose I just thought it was funny as hell.

After a slight delay @ the Canadian/US border HANSON joined us and their screaming fans inside the KRZ Spotlight Lounge Friday morning.

Zack, Taylor & Isaac lit up the stage of the Spotlight Lounge with their tight harmonies.  We got a preview of their Shout it Out tour, which hits the stage of the Sherman Theatre in Stroudsburg, Friday night.

It was a once in a lifetime opportunity for a bunch of lucky Hanson fans.

Hanson fans arrived @ 5:30am to see their favorite band

Our intern Kyle shot his own up-close & personal video…still dressed as Harry Potter from the night before…from the floor of the Spotlight Lounge!

Rocky, Sue, and I were blown away by how EARLY the Hanson fans started flocking to the station for our KRZ Spotlight Lounge. The masses had congregated by 5am! And when I say “masses” I mean “masses of chicks”. But…….ya know what? THAT is a true fan! THAT is someone who deserves to be up close & personal with an artist!! We started a little late because the band was held up at Customs (they played in Montreal last night). And the Canadian hold-up was of great distress to me because I’ve noticed a recurring theme here in my new NEPA stomping grounds – everyone takes great joy in ANY instance where Canada is majorly effing up, simply because it’s sorta my homeland and that makes it easy to hold me personally responsible for any and all Canadians ANYWHERE at ANY given time doing ANYTHING stupid (which is not a challenge to begin with, mmkay?). So my co-workers are all like “hey Lissa, way to go. Your stupid backwoods moose-country is keeping us from getting Hanson. Does that make you angry? Is your temperature rising? In Celsius?”…..or “hey Lissa, what’s the deal? Do they force everyone to play a hockey scrimmage before they’re allowed to leave Quebec? Or maybe they’re just upset that Bryan Adams isn’t popular anymore?” (Hahahaha….yeah, these are direct quotes).

But once they got here and got playing everyone had a blast. The best part of the lounge was when they looked under the table and saw our intern Kyle videotaping (he’d come straight from the “Harry Potter” premiere and was DRESSED like Harry Potter). He was forced to hang out under a table because basically that was the ONLY space available. Seriously. The room was packed to the gills. So Taylor Hanson’s like “Whoa…Harry Potter’s under your table!”

Thanks for a fun time, Hanson boys! Er…….. “men”. I’m hosting the Vanilla Ice show tonight at Scranton Hardware Bar so……..STOP! Collaborate and listen….haaaa, couldn’t resist. Come see me! And I’ll be at The Scranton Santa Parade tomorrow morning, then Turkey Bowl on Sunday. Whew! Busy busy busy weekend! Good thing I’m wearing my Wonder Woman underwear. And our intern is magic ;p

See?!…. Kyle DOES look exactly like Harry Potter!!

3 things I LOVE. Kids(tiny people), gift giving, and receiving mail. I got one of the BEST CARDS EVER today from the little lady below. (Her super crafty and thoughtful mom BLEW me away with this card!) I melted when I opened this homemade THANK YOU card with PICTURES included on it! I mean really, how adorable. 2 weeks ago, boyfriend and I had a great double date with his co-worker and his wife. Before we went out, I wanted to meet their precious daughter, who I had only seen in facebook pictures before.

I brought her a lady bug Pillow Pet after seeing that she was a lady bug for Halloween. Apparently little kids LOVE Pillow Pets. My best friends daughter is OBSESSED with hers and loves giving it kisses. There’s even an entire store in the Steamtown Mall that JUST SELLS PILLOW PETS!

The pictures in the card are of her enjoying the Pillow Pet! How awesome is that?! I HAD to share!

Thanks Wendy (and Pete . . . although I know you probably weren’t involved in the cutting, pasting, and card assembly!) :) You’ve officially melted me and I will volunteer my child care services ANYTIME.

Sue & I always see a couple having drinks at a restaurant where we frequently go to it. They are always at the bar, a small bar at that, and never order food. It’s kind of an odd place to go JUST for drinks. Could something more be going on here?

What are the telltale signs someone might be cheating?

Here’s what you had to say…

–If the woman touches the man or man touches the woman more than three times, they’re cheating

–If shes doin all the talkin and hes just nodding his head and looking bored they are definitely married lol

–Starts hiding emails or never checking them when ur around

–If you see them making out in the car

–Maybe they’re swingers and don’t know how to approach rocky and sue… or their marriage counselor told them to spice up their love life and role play?

–Lets see….ya think it might be when u agree to meet after emailing on a personal site…..and HE gets out of the car with his wedding ring STILL on…FAIL….dumbass forgot to take it off…..BIG OL’ L on his head…..LOL…

–I caught my husband because of the cell phone..Men should know women creep on cell phones and watch who they are calling”

–Sex habits change

–They can’t look you in the eyes when talking about their night out with the boys.

–Lil things like phone never leaves there side always on vibrate, lil lies, changes in ways they act… Accusing outta no where!”

–Sudden interest in their appearance or change of hair style color etc. dieting, working out, clothing style. -

–They begin turning off their cell phone around you or when they come home. Overly attentive to their “girlfriend/boyfriend”. Working late or “forgetting” something at work and needing to get it asap…oh yes if working late their pay is still the same. Having less money than usual without a job change.”

–The cell becomes their best friend.. they cant be separated!”

–They are slobs at home and suddenly have an interest in showering/shaving/fixing their hair every day

–They all of a sudden, for no good reason, don’t wanna “do it” anymore

–When you start catching them in little lies all the time about stupid stuff

–When they start accusing you of being the one cheating!”
