Where else but Plymouth, PA would a giant dancing Kielbasa bring a crowd to their feet?

I was a guest judge Saturday @ the 7th Annual Plymouth Kielbasa Festival at Franchella’s Pub.  This event gets bigger and bigger every year.

(If you’re my cardiologist please stop reading!)

After a quick move from the “Fresh” side to the “Smoked” side I took my place right next to Tom Grace, play-by-play man for our WB/SCR Penguins.

Tray after tray of smoked Kielbasa was brought out for us to try.

We sampled 7 varieties with the creators of these meat masterpieces watching our every move.

In the end, the crew at Bosak’s Choice Meats in Olyphant did it again.  They were #1 in both the Fresh & Smoked categories.  Bosak’s has now won 9 titles in 7 years.  Congratulations guys.

        (Tammy & Gail Bosak)

And great job once again by Plymouth Alive!

We’ll see you back here next year.

Too fun! I’m in the process of crossing things off my “Lissa Get Lost” tour list. These are the top five listener suggested activities (or places) I MUST experience in order to become a true resident of NEPA:

-Ricketts Glen

-Stock Car Racing Experience at Pocono Raceway

-Mining Tour

-Keilbasi Festival

-Old Forge Pizza Tour

So….Two down, three to go!! I got to do the Stock Car Racing Experience on Wednesday and OH MY GAAWWWWD – awesome! The video says it all but needless to say, 160 mph in a 600 hp stock car left me speechless! Yep. Me. Speechless.  BIG thanks to Chris, Steve, and Andy at Pocono Raceway for making it such an unbelievable day! I recommend this for anybody adventurous – not just Nascar fans. For their website, click here.

Then yesterday morning, I broadcasted live at the Plymouth Keilbasi Festival – that’s truly the most fun I’ve ever had with endless yards of meat log. And I shared a special moment with Ryan Leckey from WNEP – breakfast of champions baby…. Lissy likey :) Can’t wait for my next outing!

. . . something like . . . LISTEN AT YOUR OWN RISK : May cause extreme outburts of emotion and/or cause a deep chill out session to occur. Talk about CHILL music . . . I can’t even remember half of the songs after a few listens because I get put into this crazy trance. David Gray’s new cd came out last Tuesday and after searching for it all over, I finally found it at – of all places, Walmart! Oh my, when I was there this little man in a JAZZY scooter thing kept TRYING to run me over. I’ll admit, I love flirting with OLD men for fun, but this guy still flirts like a 4 year old. SCARY town. I think I broke a sweat trying to get away from him.

This is my favorite song off the album – so far. It’s just so smooth.

Hey speaking of Walmart . . . last night I had a conversation about PEOPLEOFWALMART.com (yeah, deep convos i'm having, right?) and it made me check the site today. I love looking under Pennsylvania to see if any of our local Walmarts make the cut. I mean really, every time I go I see some pretty ridiculous people wearing ridiculous things. Today, I found these GEMS from the PA files. If you see anything PRICELESS at any of our local Walmarts, feel free to take pics and send. This is fun. :)

*I wonder if they were picking up "protection" for their big night?

*This one is my favorite . . . god love her. Imagine the static cling once she takes her hair out from under there? Ladies, you know what i’m talking about.

Here’s the video of the clip we played on the show this morning.  This race could’ve been called the Tiger Woods Stakes.

Ever get the urge to act like a kid again? Every now and then it’s healthy to forget being an adult and relive your childhood.

(that’s me & our newest little Joey)

I get a chance to act childish every morning on the radio AND every month when I host an event with Big Brother/Big Sister.  I’ve volunteered as a Big Bro for a few years now.  Not only is it a very rewarding experience, but I get to do the fun things I did when I was younger.

There’s a great need for Big Brothers & Big Sisters in NEPA. You only have to give up a little of your time each month and once you get in the program, you’ll find it is well worth it.

Here’s just a few of the fun things I’ve done with the littles—

–hit baseballs at the batting cages
–drive go-carts
–lazer tag
–hiking
–mini golf
–paddle boats
–Penguins hockey
–Yankees baseball
–video games, pool & air hockey

(Racing go carts @ Pike’s Creek Raceway in Lehman)

Why not give up a bit of your time and make a difference in a young kid’s life?
