What the …..?  Here’s the video of the Smoking Baby we were talking about this morning.  I first saw it on Jimmy Kimmel’s show last night & couldn’t believe it.  The 2 yr old smokes 40 cigs a day!  Is Children & Youth international?

I don’t know if it’s just my circle of friends or if it’s just what happens when you’re in your twenties . . . but everyone around me is either getting married or having a baby! My friend Alicia is getting married a week from Saturday and i’m a bridesmaid! The big day is SO close and I wanted to do something special for her. She didn’t want to do a lot of the traditional stuff or have a shower, so all of the bridesmaids came over last night for a suprise-non-bridal-shower-ish-soiree! Alicia, the bride, has had a ROUGH couple of weeks so we were really excited to have a get together, hang out, drink some champagne, and hang out – just the girls. Can you imagine being 2 weeks away from your wedding day and picking up your DREAM DRESS to find that the dress shop ordered you the wrong size and offered NO SOLUTION to fix the problem? Yup, that happened to her. Enter PANIC MODE. I’d be freaking too. She was DRESS-less 2 weeks before her wedding! THANK GOD for Kathy’s Bridal in Edwardsville. Our bridesmaids dresses were from there, so Alicia went THERE yesterday to see if she could find a new wedding dress 11 days before the wedding, to replace the one that the “other” shop ordered in the wrong size!  Kathy’s was SO helpful, SO accomodating, and SO patient! Would you believe that the first dress she tried on at Kathy’s Bridal became  THE ONE. Can you believe that? She actually cried and fell more in love with this one than the original one that came back the wrong size from the “other” dress shop. Long story short – if you’re getting married, Kathy’s Bridal was AWESOME. I’m sure Alicia wasn’t the most pleasant bride to deal with (can you imagine not having a dress 11 days before your wedding because of someone elses screw up?) and they were so helpful and gave RELIEF to a bride who was DRESS-LESS 11 days before her wedding and about to go psycho. Kathy, the owner, is really sweet and is now doing everything she can to make sure Alicia’s dress fits perfectly – just in time! Thank god. So with that stress over and done with  .  .  . last night was our little surprise party for her at my apartment and it was a blast. We ate, we drank, and we played sex charades. (awesome game by the way!)

. . . sex charades . . . the best group game EVER!

Bridesmaids and the bride in the middle!

The engraved toasting flutes we gave her!

There are some people who are really good at figuring out how old people are just by looking at them
. . . I am NOT one of those people. I actually cringe when people I meet ask “how old do you think I am?
Why would you ask someone that? Not only have you just put me in a terribly uncomfortable position, but
I SUCK AT THAT GAME.  Perfect example – just 2 months ago at the HOBOKEN ST. Patrick’s Day parade
I made out with this HOT Ben Affleck look alike ALL DAY. We danced, kissed, drank – had an awesome time
together. I figured we were in the same ballpark age-wise. I assumed he was a couple years older than me, but not many. I could have sworn he was like, 26 or 27 … actually, I would have put money on it. Well, a week later he added me on facebook and  after some serious cyber stalking – he’s DEFINITELY PUSHING 40! After stalking his photos and lack of BIRTH YEAR under INFO, his old school prom photos were the true test. They were not even CLOSE to being from around the same time I went to prom. I’m even going to go so far as to guess that his prom took place in the EARLY 90’s. SOOO outdated.  He either lied about his age when we met, or I never asked. (Hey, we started drinking at 9am and it was a long day!) I’m just not good with the whole – GUESS MY AGE – situation. Well now there’s a website . . . sorta like Hot or Not… called GUESSMYAGE.net . . . and it’s the number one age guessing website. If you have a little bit of time to kill, take a look at the photo on the left and try to work out
how old they are! Type your guess into the guessing box and hit guess! The correct results will appear here…try to get some spot on! You can also sign up and upload your own photo, so you can find out how old you really look.

Hard to believe that less than a year ago I was checking into the Heart Hospital @ Geisinger for surgery.  Yesterday I completed my first race since then, the Run for the Red 5k in Stroudsburg.

What a great day for a run, and what an amazing turnout.  I run with the NF Endurance Team.  The team captain is one of our listeners, Lisa Quinn, whose daughter Meadow suffers from Neurofibramatosis.

                Lisa Quinn the Marathon Mom

Young Meadow is my inspiration.  She kept me running before my surgery, and she got me off the couch last summer after my surgery.  Whenever I feel like I have to quit, I look down at the NF bracelet on my wrist and think of Meadow.  She keeps me running.

Meadow rockin’ out @ the Run for the Red

Meadow loves metal!  She says one day she will marry the guys from Linkin Park.  And with her determination, it wouldn’t surprise me if she did.
