MY DAY @ THE D-M-V

Here’s a few things I overheard @ the DMV while waiting to get my Driver’s License pic taken:

–”More people are driving then ever before.  Where do they all get money for cars?”
–DUI…that was created by 2 women.”

I waited over an hour to get my new DL pic taken.  When my number was FINALLY called, the guy behind the desk said “Hang on a minute, my computer just crashed.”  “Is that why it’s taking so long?”, I asked.  “No,” he said, “My computer has been working  just fine!”

So why the hold up?  One of our listeners pointed out that the reason it takes so long is people like Sue that pose for more than one photo.  Apparently she wants to look her best for the officer when she gets pulled over! 

TOYOTA RECALL

Toyota is recalling 3.8 million vehicles to address problems with a removable floor mat that could cause accelerators to get stuck and lead to a crash.  This is the largest recall ever in the U.S.
Here’s the list of the vehicles involved:

–2007-2010 model year Toyota Camry
–2005-2010 Toyota Avalon
–2004-2009 Toyota Prius
–2005-2010 Tacoma
–2007-2010 Toyota Tundra
–2007-2010 Lexus ES350
–2006-2010 Lexus IS250 and IS350.

THE NAKED PIZZA GUY

 
We read an email from a listener faced with a dilemma.  He usually goes to his favorite pizza place at least twice a month but now can’t go back.  Why?  He saw the guy that makes the pizza naked in the locker room @ the gym.  He can’t get the image of “the naked pizza guy” out of his head.  Should he let this get in the way of his favorite pizza?  I definitely see how it could be a problem.  Maybe he should try DiGiorno.  “Fresh delivery taste, without the naked pizza guy”!

“DEEP-FRIED ON-A-STICK” FOOD TOUR

This weekend I hit the Bloomsburg Fair on a food tour.  The self-proclaimed Fair Princess (our receptionist Mo Diggs) acted as my personal guide.  If it was fried or on a stick, I wanted to try it.

1.  Grotto Pizza tastes better @ the fair
2.  They put 3 sticks of butter in every tray of Mr. Sticky’s sticky buns
3.  You can never bring enough Tums
4.  There’s no way a guy can look cool eating a Chocolate covered Banana on-a-stick
5.  Hit the Porta-potties early

I took TONS of more pictures, but my computer in our office is not cooperating with me today … I wanted to get a couple up though! Yesterday we gave away 3 pairs of tickets to see PINK in PHILLY next weekend and 1 lucky winner would also MEET her backstage! I can’t be the only one totally tired of hearing that term. Recessionista? Really? It’s supposed to mean that you’re being frugal and recycling staple items that are already in your closet and pairing them with new accessories and bargain shopping.  Umm, do we really need terminology for EVERYTHING?! Ok, glad that’s off my chest.

While i’m on a rant . . . I just saw an article that was titled : What Women Want From Men . . .

It’s simple really. We want it all. Someone fun to be around, cute, athletic, smart, social, EMPLOYED, humorous, family oriented, and a kick ass lover. Is that too much to ask for?! Reminds me of that song, I think Otown sang, ALL OR NOTHING. I want it all – or nothing at all. Ha.

Today we are calling my Canadian Pen Pal, JD. I’m nervous. Not gonna lie. We’ve been emailing for over a month, I know so much about him, but it’s the first time we’ll actually correspond in a way other than email. Ahhh! 3:30 dudes. I think I feel the swine flu coming over me … jk I’ll be here. It’ll be fun. I hope he doesn’t sound like Pee Wee Herman because truthfully, that would definitely be a deal breaker. Wow, that’s shallow, huh?

COUGAR TOWN debuted on ABC last night.  Did you watch?  We both checked it out.  Sue loved it, I loved Courtney Cox.  Wow, she showed a lot of skin.  Sue thinks there are more cougars now than ever before.  It’s more prevalant than we think.  But Sue, they don’t look like Courtney!

How about the bookkeeper from WB that allegedly stole $120,000 to support her Bingo habit!  Sue mentioned  this story in the news, then said her Mom also has a Bingo addiction.  She drops $30/week on her habit.  Wow, those are some high stakes games she’s playing.

We had TV Critic Korbi Ghosh from the TV Guide channel & www.zap2it.com on the show this morning to talk about Fall TV.  Korbi has seen them all.  So far she loves “Community”, Modern Family” & “Glee”, but doesn’t think “Cougar Town” is going to survive.

THE BOB DYLAN CHRISTMAS ALBUM

What better way to celebrate the holidays than with the music of Bob Dylan!  Let’s hope the CD includes a lyric sheet so you can figure out what Christmas classic Bob is singing.

After months of terrible, useless, blah tv ... it's SEASON PREMIERE WEEK! I can not WAIT for Thursday and Grey's Anatomy. Last night I watched One Tree Hill and that show is sinking without Lucas and Peyton. They should re-name it DOWN HILL.

Last night I also replied to the cute canadian blogger. Now that I think about it, I don't know how I would feel if I was on his end and he was talking about me on the radio. It's not like I've said anything too revealing or private, it's just the idea of it. I'd probably freak out. Eh, it's all in fun, right?! I'm actually a little anxious about the idea of talking to him on Friday. I need to plan an outfit.

I've posted videos from this school chorus before, but I couldn't help myself. Had to post this one. I got really overwhelmed with emotion at the 1:30 mark. It is SO moving to see young kids be inspired by music. This choir director shares his passion for music with these youth ... it's really amazing. THEY GET SO INTO IT ... and they sound AWESOME!
